Vince Vaughn is a proud dad to two children: Locklyn and Vernon. The IF voice actor once shared that he didn’t feel ready for fatherhood until he got engaged to his now-wife, Kyla Weber, in 2009. “It was the first time that I really wanted to have kids,” he revealed at the time.
Their daughter, Locklyn Kyla, was born in 2010, and Vaughn quickly embraced fatherhood. In an interview with CTV News, he said that becoming a parent gave him “a different purpose.
Before the birth of their second child, Vernon Lindsay, in 2013, Vaughn opened up about how much he was enjoying being a dad. “All kids bring their own joy, it’s a lot of fun,” he told E! News. “There’s nothing more fun than laughing and playing around with the kids.”
In August 2024, Vaughn celebrated a milestone as his family joined him for his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. During his speech, he gave a heartfelt shoutout to his children:
“As much as all this means, Vernon and Locklyn, you guys are the most important thing in the world to me. I love you very much.
Vaughn and Weber welcomed their first child, Locklyn Kyla, on December 18, 2010. Her name is inspired by her mother’s heritage. “My wife’s mum is from Scotland, so that’s where Locklyn comes from,” Vaughn explained to Metro in 2014.
As a child, Locklyn was friends with Owen Wilson’s son, Ford. The two—born just a month apart—visited their dads on the set of The Internship in 2012 and were seen playing together on location.
Like many kids her age, Locklyn was a huge Frozen fan—especially the character Elsa. In a 2015 interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Vaughn said she was totally captivated by the princess.
“[Elsa] is the one that my daughter really seems to idolize,” he said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “She doesn’t get too close to anyone because she’ll hurt them, she’ll freeze them… so she has to shut herself out.”
Vaughn joked, “I wonder what a child psychologist would say about this,” noting how seriously he played along with her imagination.
Vaughn and Weber welcomed their son, Vernon Lindsay Vaughn, on August 7, 2013. He’s named after Vaughn’s father, Vernon Sr.
Unlike most kids his age, Vernon has a love for scary movies. In a 2020 interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Vaughn shared, “He has a real appetite for the dangerous stuff. He’s 7 years old, and I watched the original Dirty Harry with him… I don’t know how this plays out, but I did it.”
That same year on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Vaughn revisited the topic, laughing, “It’s unclear what happened, but he does like things that scare him. I try to stop it, but I’m letting him watch some stuff.”
Despite his spooky taste in entertainment, Vernon is also incredibly sweet and generous. “My son is very funny, very sweet,” Vaughn said. “He likes to share—which you’d hope to see in a kid.”
He added that Vernon often gives his toys away to friends like party favors. “When friends come over, it’s like they’re guests at the Oscars,” Vaughn joked. “They leave with a bag of things—like new toys that were supposed to be his.
Vince Vaughn may have once been a Hollywood bachelor—he famously dated Jennifer Aniston in 2006—but those days are long gone. The Wedding Crashers star has been married to Canadian real estate agent Kyla Weber since 2010.
The couple keeps their private life out of the spotlight, which Vaughn says is intentional. “I always try to keep my relationships quiet and my work at the forefront,” he told Parade in 2008.
He credits Weber with bringing joy and meaning to his life. “I met the best girl in the world,” Vaughn said in 2011. “It gives you such a great purpose in your life.”
Today, the couple lives a quieter life focused on family, raising their two kids with lots of love—and plenty of laughter.
