Janelle and Kody welcomed their first child, Logan, in May 1994. He attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and exercise science in 2017. Janelle and Kody welcomed their eldest daughter, Madison, on Nov. 3, 1995. Madison—who goes by Maddie—has been open about the challenges in her relationship with Kody. On The Authentic Society podcast in November 2024, she shared, “[He] doesn’t have any respect for boundaries, and you have to play by his rules, and I just don’t care to do that.” Maddie got engaged to Caleb Brush in September 2015, and the two tied the knot in June 2016. Their wedding was a true family affair, with Maddie’s sisters as bridesmaids and her half-sister Truely serving as the flower girl.

Janelle and Kody welcomed their son Hunter in February 1997. He attended the United States Air Force Academy, graduating in April 2020. After completing his military education, Hunter pursued a master’s degree in nursing at Johns Hopkins University. In 2020, he shared his excitement on Instagram, writing, “Very excited to start my Master’s in nursing with these ladies. Garrison, born Robert Garrison Brown on April 10, 1998, was the fourth child of Janelle and Kody. Sadly, Garrison passed away by suicide on March 5, 2024, at the age of 25, in his home in Flagstaff. Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown. He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him,” Janelle and Kody wrote in a joint Instagram post. Janelle and Kody welcomed their son Gabriel in October 2001. He was around 9 years old when Sister Wives began filming. As he grew older, the COVID-19 pandemic put a strain on Gabe’s relationship with his father. Disagreements over quarantine measures and their differing views on relationships led to tension.

In a 2023 episode, Gabe shared, “Me and Garrison are at odds with my dad, because when we expressed our discontent at how things were going with COVID, I was met with just a wall. And there was no line of dialogue.

I think that that is what really drove the wedge between us.” The distance between them came to a head in 2021 when Kody called Gabe on his 20th birthday—only to forget it was his special day.

Janelle and Kody welcomed their youngest child, daughter Savanah, on Dec. 7, 2004. Savanah attended high school in Flagstaff and graduated in May 2023.
