Catelynn Lowell has long been candid about her motherhood journey with husband Tyler Baltierra. The Teen Mom stars, who fell in love as middle school sweethearts, tied the knot in August 2015 — six years after welcoming their first child, Carly, on May 18, 2009. Carly’s birth was documented on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant, and not long after, the young couple made the difficult decision to place her for adoption.
Since then, Lowell and Baltierra have welcomed three more daughters: Novalee in January 2015, Vaeda in February 2019, and Rya in August 2021. Though their open adoption with Carly has had its ups and downs, the couple has remained connected to her over the years. Carly even met her little sister Novalee in 2016. In 2023, the proud parents shared with that their bond with Carly has grown stronger as she’s entered her teen years, with conversations shifting to “life stuff.” Still, what means the most to Lowell is watching the relationships between her girls blossom.
Novalee Reign Baltierra, 10
Born on Jan. 1, 2015, Novalee Reign is Lowell and Baltierra’s second child. Fans have watched her grow up through social media, where Lowell shares glimpses of birthdays, first days of school, and cheerleading competitions.
Novalee has a big love for animals, just like her mom. In October 2023, Lowell posted a photo of her daughter with a lizard on her shoulder, writing, “This kid 😍🦎 she loves all animals like her momma.” Ahead of her 10th birthday in 2025, Lowell shared an emotional tribute calling Nova “beyond kind and thoughtful.”
Vaeda Luma Baltierra, 6
The couple welcomed their third daughter, Vaeda, on Feb. 21, 2019, just months after publicly sharing the heartbreak of a miscarriage. Vaeda’s birth was especially meaningful to them, and Lowell honored her with a tattoo featuring her footprint filled in with a rainbow, symbolizing her as their rainbow baby.
Since then, Vaeda’s milestone moments have been celebrated online, with Lowell often reflecting on how quickly time passes. In 2024, she shared her disbelief that her little girl was already turning five.
Rya Rose Baltierra, 4
The youngest of the family, Rya Rose was born on Aug. 28, 2021. Before conceiving her, Lowell admitted she had “baby fever” and dreamed of expanding their family once more. When the couple announced their pregnancy in 2021, they revealed they had hoped for a boy — but were overjoyed to be welcoming another healthy daughter.
Lowell later explained that while Rya would be their last baby, she and Baltierra look forward to the day they’ll be grandparents. She’s also shared the sweet meaning behind all of her daughters’ names, making each one deeply personal.
