Survivor alums Rob Mariano and Amber Mariano (née Brkich) have swapped tribal councils for carpool lines as proud parents to four daughters: Lucia, Carina, Isabetta, and Adelina. Known as one of reality TV’s most iconic couples, Rob and Amber first competed separately—he on Survivor: Marquesas in 2002 and she on Survivor: The Australian Outback in 2001—before falling for each other on Survivor: All-Stars in 2004. Their love story famously culminated in a live on-air proposal during the finale.
Before starting their family, the couple teamed up on two seasons of The Amazing Race. Rob once shared on the First Class Fatherhood podcast that they intentionally waited a few years to have kids, wanting to enjoy married life first. Since becoming a dad, Rob has returned to Survivor three more times—winning once—but leaving Amber and the kids behind was never easy. Still, he says it was all to give them a better future.
Lucia, born July 4, 2009, was Rob and Amber’s first child. Her birthdate is especially meaningful, as it also marks the anniversary of Rob’s grandmother Rose’s passing—hence Lucia’s middle name. “She is a perfect baby,” Rob gushed after her arrival. Now a high school cheerleader, Lucia has embraced her dad’s Boston heritage. In a 2022 Instagram post, Rob shared a photo of the two prepping lobster on New Year’s Eve, captioned: “Tell me you’re in Boston without telling me you’re in Boston!
Carina was born on December 10, 2010, and her arrival came with some drama. Just days before Amber was scheduled to be induced, she went into labor in the middle of the night—two weeks past her due date. Rob raced her to the hospital, and Carina was born just ten minutes after they arrived. “No I.V., no epidural—it was amazing what she did,” he recalled. Rob first shared the news of her birth during the Survivor: Nicaragua live reunion, joking, “I’m definitely outnumbered now!
Amber gave birth to Isabetta on May 5, 2012—Cinco de Mayo. Born with a full head of brown hair and piercing blue eyes, baby Isabetta quickly became the center of her sisters’ attention. “They always want to hold her,” Amber said at the time. The couple had picked the name Isabetta early in the pregnancy but waited until her birth to decide officially. “When we saw her for the first time, we knew it was perfect,” Amber shared.
The youngest of the Mariano crew, Adelina, was born on June 20, 2014. Rob shared the joyful news on social media, writing: “We are thrilled to announce Adelina Rose Mariano… Mom and baby are doing great!” A sweet hospital photo showed her three older sisters gazing lovingly into her bassinet. Like her siblings, Adelina shares the middle name Rose—something Rob wanted as a tribute to his grandmother and a family tradition that has extended to many cousins.
Rob and Amber’s bond has outlasted torches and tribal councils. After marrying in 2005 in a lavish ceremony in the Bahamas, the couple has spent nearly two decades putting family first. While promoting his role on NBC’s Deal or No Deal Island, Rob reflected on their lasting partnership. “We dedicate everything to family,” he told. It’s clear their strongest alliance isn’t on the island—it’s in the life they’ve built together.
