Noah Wyle’s 3 Kids: Meet Owen, Auden, and Frances

No one beams more proudly over Noah Wyle’s Emmy-winning career than his three children: Owen, Auden, and Frances.

“You always hope your kids understand how hard you work,” The Pitt star told in September 2025. “You hope they see how much of yourself you put into what you do and how you try to lead by example. This past year, I’ve really felt like they’ve been paying attention — and that’s been meaningful.”

Noah first became a father on Nov. 9, 2002, when he and his then-wife Tracy Warbin welcomed son Owen. Daughter Auden followed on Oct. 15, 2005. After the couple later divorced, Noah married Sara Wyle in June 2014, and the pair welcomed their daughter Frances on June 22, 2015.

While Noah is best known for his iconic role as Dr. John Carter on ER, he revealed to in March 2025 that his two oldest kids still haven’t watched the series.

“They’ve seen more Grey’s Anatomy than ER,” he joked. “It’s a sore spot.”

That said, Noah admitted that as Owen and Auden grow older — and become more curious about the entertainment world — he hopes they’ll eventually explore his earlier work. “The more interested they seem in this business, the more I want to point to that as something they might want to check out,” he said.

Fans of The Pitt can rest easy, though: Noah’s kids are watching his current HBO Max hit. The Emmy-winning series, which stars him as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, returned for its second season on Jan. 8.

Owen’s birth reshaped Noah’s career choices

Looking back on his long career during a March 2025 interview with , Noah shared that becoming a father changed how he approached roles.

“My tastes shifted dramatically after my son was born,” he said. “Suddenly, I was thinking about what my kids might see their dad doing or saying onscreen.”

As a result, he became more selective. “It definitely reined in my impulse to play darker characters,” Noah added. “I found myself wanting to play the good guys.”

Owen and Auden’s names carry special meaning

Two of Noah’s children have deeply personal names. Owen shares his father’s middle name, Strausser, while Auden was named after Pulitzer Prize–winning poet W.H. Auden.

Auden previously shared in a January 2024 interview with Ryan Glover that she feels a “special connection” to the poet, citing As I Walked Out One Evening as her favorite poem.

Noah jokes about mixing TV medicine with real life

Appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in April 2025, Noah laughed about how years of playing doctors have followed him home.

When asked whether he ever forgets he isn’t a real physician, Noah admitted he sometimes jumps to dramatic conclusions. “Oh, it’s a compound fracture?” he joked. “Maybe cold water isn’t going to cut it.”

Owen and Auden are entering the entertainment world

Two of Noah’s kids may be carving out their own paths in the industry. He told that Owen, who attends Boston University, is taking film classes and exploring behind-the-scenes work.

“I tell him all the time — it’s a big tent,” Noah said. “Truck drivers, lawyers, carpenters. But he loves the circus, and it’s hard to keep him from wanting to be part of it.”

Auden, meanwhile, is already building an acting résumé. Noah shared that she’s “well ahead” of where he was at her age — and even played his onscreen daughter in Leverage: Redemption!.

In October 2021, Auden marked the experience on Instagram, writing, “I had the best time doing this episode with great — and an especially great scene partner @therealnoahwyle 🤍.”

Frances is “a dynamo,” says her dad

Though Frances is still young, Noah has no doubt about her potential.

“She’s a dynamo who can do anything she wants,” he told , while noting that he supports all three of his children equally. “Everyone’s journey is their own.”

He echoed that sentiment in a sweet Instagram tribute for Frances’ eighth birthday in 2023. “You’ve made every day and every room brighter for eight years,” he wrote. “We love you so.”
