Meg Ryan, widely recognized as the ’90s rom-com queen, is also a proud mother of two: her son Jack Quaid and daughter Daisy True Ryan. Ryan and actor Dennis Quaid welcomed Jack in 1992, during their 10-year marriage, which ended in 2001. Later, in 2006, Ryan adopted her daughter Daisy, who was born in China in 2004. Reflecting on her journey to expand her family, she shared with Redbook the joy Daisy brought into their lives, saying, “I just can’t imagine what life was like before she came. Life is good, it’s so good with her in it. She and Jack get along great. All of us fit together beautifully.” Ryan credits her children with inspiring her move into directing, having directed Jack in the 2015 film Ithaca.

Jack Quaid, 32

Jack Henry Quaid was born in Los Angeles on April 24, 1992, a year after his parents, Ryan and Quaid, were married. However, by 2000, they had separated, and their divorce was finalized the following year when Jack was just nine. Growing up, Jack spent a lot of time on movie sets with his parents. He fondly remembers accompanying his dad to Austin, Texas, while he filmed The Rookie in 2002. “I would go on location with my parents a lot,” Jack recalled in a January 2022 interview with. “I wasn’t paying attention to the technical stuff, though. I’d watch a couple of takes, then hit the craft service truck and try to sneak as much candy as I could!” Despite growing up with famous parents, Jack never felt burdened by their careers. Speaking on the Allegedly with Theo Von & Matthew Cole Weiss podcast in 2016, Jack reflected, “I fully acknowledge that the way I grew up wasn’t typical. But at the same time, my parents were still just my mom and dad.

Daisy True Ryan, 19

Daisy True Ryan was born in China in 2004, and Ryan adopted her two years later in early 2006. The When Harry Met Sally star told the Los Angeles Times in 2008 that adoption was something she had “always thought” she would do, describing the process as “a deliberate act.” She emphasized that adoption taught her the value of letting go of any preconceived expectations. Originally named Charlotte True, Ryan later changed her daughter’s name to Daisy, explaining on The Late Show with David Letterman that it just didn’t fit. “It took me a while to get to know her,” Ryan explained. “Daisy is a ridiculously happy person, and it was the happiest name I could think of.

Dennis Quaid Does Not 'Regret Anything About' Marriage to Meg Ryan: 'A Great, Sweet Person'

Twenty-four years after their marriage ended, Dennis Quaid, now 70, has no regrets about his relationship with Meg Ryan. Appearing on Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?, Quaid opened up about his 10-year marriage to Ryan. When asked whether their combined fame put pressure on their relationship, Quaid candidly responded. “When I met Meg, I was at one point in my career, and she was at another, but soon her career skyrocketed,” he said, illustrating with his hands how Ryan’s fame soared during their time together. Despite the ups and downs, Quaid holds no bitterness, referring to Ryan as “a great, sweet person.
