Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard’s Two Daughters: Their Parenting Insights

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are the definition of “cool parents.”

The actors welcomed their first daughter, Lincoln, in 2013, followed by their second daughter, Delta, in 2014. While the couple keeps their kids largely off social media and private from the public eye, they occasionally share glimpses of life at home.

Lincoln and Delta have a tight sisterly bond. “Not only do they party together, they’re united against us, which I love,” Shepard joked in 2022. He added that when one girl is in trouble, the other will step in: “You’re not being nice to Lincoln, you didn’t listen to what she said.” Shepard laughed, “That’s your role. You guys gang up and kill me. It’s you two against the world like that.”

The girls have clearly inherited their parents’ humor. In May 2025, Bell shared an Instagram photo of a Mother’s Day card from one of her daughters. The front read, “Happy Fathers Day Mom!” and inside concluded with a hilariously cheeky line: “Happy Mothers Day you creative and consiterate [sic] bitch!” Bell captioned it, “Best card anyone has ever given or gotten.”

Lincoln Bell Shepard, 13

Lincoln was born on March 28, 2013. From the start, Bell and Shepard encouraged her adventurous side. At just 3 ½ years old, she began learning to ride a motorcycle under her dad’s guidance. Bell explained on Hiking with Kevin that Dax wanted Lincoln prepared: if she ever rode with a boyfriend later, she would already know how to handle a bike safely.

Lincoln also showed her bold personality early. In kindergarten, she decided to shave the side of her head. Bell admitted she had never been, and never would be, “that cool,” but supported her daughter: “It will take a year to grow back, so I want you to make sure you’re into it.”

Now 13, Lincoln has a growing passion for musical theater. Shepard revealed on The Drew Barrymore Show in September 2024 that listening to his daughter sing brings him to tears: “100% when I see — it used to be when I’d see Kristen sing. But now we have an 11-year-old who sings as well, and I cry the whole time she’s singing.”

Delta Bell Shepard, 11

Delta arrived on December 19, 2014. Shepard humorously announced her birth on X: “Delta Bell Shepard is here. She doesn’t look like either Kristen or me, but we’re gonna keep her anyway.”

As a toddler, Delta was fearless and outgoing. Bell recalled, “When we’re on an airplane, she spends most of her time talking to the pilot or the stewardesses, not with me. She was 4 years old.” She added a story about Delta chatting with the dentist on her own, showing her early social confidence.

By March 2025, Delta had developed her own tastes, like being a fan of Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet album. Shepard shared a funny moment on Armchair Expert about Delta’s curiosity regarding the movie Juno. She asked, “But do you know what Juno is?” Shepard said, “No…” and she explained, “It’s a story about a girl who gets pregnant.” He laughed at her innocent yet thoughtful reasoning: “There’s nothing nasty about wanting to have a baby with someone you love,” she said, reframing the lyrics in her own perspective.

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard’s daughters clearly inherit their parents’ humor, boldness, and curiosity, making the family dynamic just as fun as their fans might imagine.
