From Hollywood co-stars to devoted parents, Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons have mastered working together. The couple—who first met on the set of Fargo in 2015—are proud parents to two sons: Ennis, 7, and James, 4. Before welcoming her first child in 2018, Dunst shared her growing desire for motherhood with Marie Claire UK, saying, “I wasn’t one of those ‘I need a baby!’ until my goddaughter was born… That love is just like… you can’t experience that unless you have a kid.”
After Ennis’ arrival, Dunst quickly transitioned back to work, starring in On Becoming a God in Central Florida. Speaking at the 2019 Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour, she admitted, “I’m just tired all the time. It’s so much easier to go back to work than it is to be a stay-at-home mom.”

Born on May 3, 2018, in Santa Monica, California, Ennis is the couple’s first child. Dunst revealed they chose his name because it had a cool, old-fashioned vibe. “We found it online… just one of those baby websites,” she shared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2019. Ennis made an early red carpet debut at just one year old during Dunst’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. Despite his adorable dimples and charm, Dunst and Plemons have decided to keep him out of the industry for now, focusing on letting him enjoy a normal childhood.
James Robert Plemons, 4
Their second son, James Robert, arrived in April 2021. Dunst made her pregnancy announcement with a stunning W Magazine cover, but the couple kept James’ birth under wraps until September. Dunst affectionately described her younger son as “an angel, but a hungry angel… and a heavy angel.” Plemons shared that watching Ennis become a big brother has been a heartwarming experience.
