Jordan Spieth is a three-time major champion and one of golf’s most recognizable stars, but off the course, he’s simply “Dad” to son Sammy, daughter Sophie, and another baby on the way. The PGA Tour standout and his wife, Annie Verret, tied the knot in 2018 and have been building their family ever since. Their first child, Sammy, arrived in November 2021, followed by Sophie in September 2023. In early 2025, Spieth shared the exciting news that the couple is expecting their third child this summer.

Fatherhood, Spieth admits, has shifted his perspective. “I think having kids and recognizing that, where golf was [my] life, I don’t think it’s necessarily a very healthy thing,” the Dallas native explained in a July 2024 press conference. “I’d like to be a lot of other things, and what I do is play golf, versus it being all-encompassing. And so that frees your mind up a little bit to maybe take some pressure off on the bad weeks.

Jordan and Annie welcomed their first child, Sammy, on Nov. 14, 2021. The proud new dad announced the news on Instagram, sharing a photo of his son’s tiny hand wrapped around his finger. “Feeling blessed!” he captioned.

The couple had kept Annie’s pregnancy quiet until she was visibly showing at the Tour Championship in September 2021. “It’s something you can’t hide now that we are close,” Jordan joked at the time. Sammy has had a front-row seat to his father’s career since birth, often spotted at tournaments alongside his parents.

Their daughter Sophie joined the family on Sept. 12, 2023. Jordan announced her arrival on Instagram with a sweet black-and-white photo and the caption: “Welcome, Sophie 9/12/23 ?.”

Spieth had planned to travel for a Ryder Cup scouting trip in Italy that week, but stayed home to support Annie instead. His teammates sent their congratulations, writing: “Welcome Sophie — so happy to have you on the US team!!” Like her big brother, Sophie has already been a regular at the golf course, including the Masters’ family day, which Jordan calls “our favorite tradition.”

Baby No. 3 on the Way

In February 2025, Spieth revealed on The Smylie Show podcast that he and Annie are expecting their third child in July. “We have a third coming in July, so it’s busy,” he said with a smile. Annie later appeared at the Masters’ Par 3 Contest, proudly showing her baby bump under her white caddie jumpsuit.

Jordan Spieth and Annie Verret are true high school sweethearts. The couple got engaged in 2017 and quietly wed the following year. Since then, Annie has been a steady source of support through the highs and lows of Jordan’s career.

During his 1,351-day winless stretch between the 2017 Open Championship and the 2021 Valero Texas Open, Spieth credited Annie with helping him stay grounded. “She’s just been that person that said, ‘Whatever you need to do, I’m here to support you,’” he told reporters. “She’s been really unbelievable.
