For Robin Thicke, fatherhood has been a powerful source of healing and purpose. The “Blurred Lines” singer welcomed his first child, Julian, with ex-wife Paula Patton in 2010—just three years before his breakout hit. After the passing of his father, Alan Thicke, in 2016, Robin felt inspired to expand his family. Between 2018 and 2020, he and then-fiancée April Love Geary welcomed three children together: Mia, Lola and Luca. The couple officially tied the knot on May 30, 2025.
Robin has been open about how his father’s death shifted his priorities, especially in his relationship with Julian. “I wasn’t in a good place when he passed, and I wasn’t in a better place right after,” Robin shared in 2021. “But a few months later, I decided to dedicate myself to raising my son, and that really turned everything around. Instead of focusing on my music, I focused on him. That’s how I got through that period.
Julian Fuego Thicke, 15
Julian was born on April 6, 2010, to Robin and Paula Patton, who were together for 21 years and married for nearly nine before divorcing in 2015. Though their relationship ended, the pair worked hard to maintain a strong co-parenting bond.
In 2021, Robin proudly said, “We’re co-parenting at our very best, and it shows in Julian’s results. He’s thriving, really blossoming.” Robin also shared that Julian is nothing like his younger self: “I was the class clown in the back row. He’s in the front and loves school.”
When Julian was just a toddler, Robin spoke about how fatherhood changed him. “Since becoming a dad, I no longer perform for me—I perform for my family,” he said. “Julian is an angel, the greatest thing that has ever happened to me.” Over the years, Julian has shown a love for music too—something his dad is especially proud of.
Mia Love Thicke, 7
Robin and April welcomed their first child together, daughter Mia Love, on February 22, 2018. Her name came from a family collaboration—Julian suggested “Mia,” while Robin added “Love” as a tribute to April.
Mia was embraced right away by her big brother. On her third birthday, Robin shared a throwback video of Julian gently cradling her as a newborn, singing, “Even if we’re far apart, you will always be in my heart.” Mia quickly adjusted to being a big sister herself and showed a natural bond with her younger siblings.
Lola Alain Thicke, 6
Lola was born on February 26, 2019, just a couple of months after Robin and April got engaged on Christmas Eve in 2018. Like her sister, Lola has an interest in ballet. April often shares glimpses of her tiny dancer on social media.
Lola also has a huge love for animals, from cats and dogs to birds. April once posted a sweet moment of Lola kissing her cats goodnight and added, “Lola is so obsessed with animals! All she does is watch sea animal videos and tell animal stories all day.
Luca Patrick Thicke, 4
Robin and April’s youngest child, Luca, was born on December 11, 2020. Just two days after his birth marked the fourth anniversary of Robin’s father’s passing. The bittersweet timing inspired a heartfelt tribute from Robin.
“Four years ago today, my beloved father passed away. As I wake up next to this little guy his first night home, I miss my dad so much, but I feel his love every time I kiss my babies,” Robin wrote. “I’m crying a little right now—partly because I’m sad you’re not here, but mostly because I’m happy I had you. I hope I make you proud.
