Everything to Know About America Ferrera’s 2 Kids, Sebastian and Lucia

by Kristine Bowman

America Ferrera shares two children — son Sebastian Piers Williams and daughter Lucia Marisol Williams — with her longtime husband, Ryan Piers Williams.

“Being a mother has energized and focused me,” she shared with Access in February 2020. “Having children — especially ones I hope will connect with their cultural roots — makes everything feel that much more meaningful.”

Ferrera became a mom in May 2018 with the birth of Sebastian, and again in May 2020, when she welcomed Lucia during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

While raising her little ones, the Superstore star also balanced some of her most notable roles — including her work on the smash hit Barbie film — a feat she credits in part to the support of her husband. Regardless of what path her kids choose, Ferrera’s biggest goal is for them to always know they have her unconditional support.

Sebastian Piers Williams, 7

America Ferrera and Ryan Piers Williams welcomed their first child, Sebastian “Baz” Piers Williams, on May 29, 2018.

“When 2 becomes 3 … Welcome Sebastian Piers Williams – aka Baz! Mom, Dad and Baby are happy, healthy and totally in love!” Ferrera captioned a now-deleted Instagram post featuring a sweet shot of her baby boy’s toes.

Just a few months later, the Ugly Betty star was back to work. “My son went everywhere with me,” she told PEOPLE in December 2020. “I went back to work when he was only 10 weeks old and I would hand him to a camera grip like, ‘You hold him. I’ve got to go over here.’”

Sebastian quickly stole the spotlight as Ferrera often shared glimpses of his milestones. “A lot of my moments of pride have to do with my little guy now,” she told PEOPLE in March 2019. “Every day he does something new… he will not give up, which I love. It makes me proud.”

Lucia Marisol Williams, 5

Ferrera and Williams welcomed their second child, Lucia Marisol Williams, on May 4, 2020.

“LUCIA MARISOL WILLIAMS arrived on May 4th to give me my Mother’s Day hugs and kisses herself,” Ferrera wrote alongside a now-deleted photo of her newborn’s tiny hand. “Mama, Dada & Big Brother are over the moon to welcome her bright light to our family.”

Williams also shared the joyful news, calling Lucia “the most exquisite little creature” and adding that “everyone is healthy and happy!”

Welcoming a baby during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic came with its challenges — especially the absence of support from friends and extended family. Still, the experience brought Ferrera, her husband, and their two little ones even closer together.
