Kids Company Football Club

The Kids Company Football programme is split across our Urban Academy football squad – which is managed by our young adults and competes regularly in leagues – and our junior football programme at the Arches II centre which is developing fantastically.

The programme is a very exciting project which should see us setting up our own courses and tournaments. More importantly, though, it will enable our young adults to further their professional development to the point where they are ready to take on coaching jobs, initially within the Kids Company framework, and later within the local community.

Junior football programme
The junior football programme runs four days a week, having expanded hugely thanks to the dedication and efforts of our coaching staff at Kids Company. They play during our after-school club which has meant a massive improvement in both skill, a sense of teamwork and discipline levels. We are very excited about taking this age group forward to start playing against other teams. In addition to this the teens continue to develop well, some of the slightly older boys in the group have been helping our coach to train the younger Under 12 boys which has been very effective as they act as role models. As they have matured the group has become very supportive of each other and the teamwork between them is great to see. They continue to love the game and enjoy improving.

We have identified suitable FA Level 1 Coaching Courses in London for the new year and are looking forward to putting some of our young people through to enhance their skills and give back to the younger footballers by supporting coaching sessions.
