Indian children’s dance troupe visits Kids Company

A group of children from Ramana’s Garden Home and School for Orphans and Destitute Children, which is based at the foothills of the Himalayas in northern India, came to Kids Company on 27th June to perform a programme of Indian Classical Dance at two Kids Company schools (Beormund and Gloucester) and The Arches II. It was very inspiring for our children to see these amazing performances. The dance troupe generously offered their talents for free as they had heard about the work of Kids Company and wanted to do something for underprivileged children in London while they were here. The children come from backgrounds of extreme poverty, deprivation and abuse, and they are now supported by Ramana’s Garden Home and School where they live and receive a high standard of education, along with taking part in creative activities from painting, singing and dancing, to acting, sculpting and jewellery making. The school survives through the donations of sponsors, and if you would like to find out more about them you can visit their website: www.sayyesnow.org/ramanas.htm
