Government Funding

Government Funding

In April 2008 Kids Company was granted funding of £12.7 million over three years from the Department for Children, Schools and Families, through the Youth Sector Development Fund.

This money will enable us to continue to deliver services to 400 of our most vulnerable young people, aged over 14. Under the terms of the grant, we are working in the following areas:

· Researching the effects of trauma and neglect on brain development.
· Identifying and address barriers to young people accessing services.
· Creating improved tools for evaluation and assessment of need in young people.
· Developing an emotional wellbeing syllabus for young people.
· Working to change society’s attitudes towards young people.

We continue to raise money to fund services for the additional 11,600 children who we support.
